与往年相比,我们在今年的项目设置里添加了如下新元素:
Compared with “Go West” projects in the past, we made the following changes in 2014:

1.开启“上海外国语大学华桥大赛”新模式
2.开辟“走向西部大赛”南京专场
3.开展“走向西部”项目培训会
4.组织和参与不同形式的总结报告会

1. Opened a new model with revised rules of “HuaQiao Foundation Competition in Shanghai International Studies University (SISU)”
2. Started a “Go West” competition in Nanjing
3. Held a “Go West” training session in Shanghai
4. Organized and participated in various summary sessions in Shanghai

在过去的一年里,“走向西部”项目有了如下进步:

项目内容多样化:从单一的支教扩展到冬夏令营、贫困调研、医疗培训、英语和计算机课程、环境保护、生态调研等;
可持续性增强:我们结识了许多同我们一起成长的大学生社团。和我们一样,他们长期关注同一个地方并力所能及地给予帮助;
协作性增强:纳入来自不同学校的更多团队,各取所长,取长补短;
创新性增强:筹资渠道拓宽,大学生独立筹款能力越来越强,形式新颖。

During the past year, our “Go West” teams made progress in the following ways:

Diversifying project contents: we extended the sole-summer teaching program into vacation camps, poverty and ecology research, medical training, English and computer courses, and environmental protection;
Improving sustainability: we improved our cooperation by adding more college student organizations, which also pay long-term attention to the same sites year after year and make grassroot improvements;
Developing more collaborations: diversifying our collaborations with students by adding additional universities and including initiatives that guide social developments in western China;
Promoting innovation: student teams improved their ability to raise money independently through developing more creative methods.
